A global supply chain is hard to grasp; making it look good on an 86-inch touchscreen is harder.

The need was to visualise geodata related to the client global production plants, distribution centres and retail points. It had to be a centrepiece in their HQ meeting room, running on an 86-inch touchscreen to guide exec conversations.
Our approach
Transformed raw data into structured insights: analysed extensive datasets to design clear geospatial visualisations, highlighting key operational locations.
Built a hierarchical map: designed a multi-zoom structure, allowing seamless navigation from a global overview to site-specific details.
Created dynamic filters: enabled users to pinpoint specific regions, facilities, or supply chain flows within the network.
Enhanced interactivity: developed smooth transitions and dynamic elements for a responsive and intuitive touchscreen experience.

The core challenge was balancing pure functionality and aesthetics. Beside that, on an 86-inch screen, UI matters equally as UX: a strictly functional dashboard would look like a giant spreadsheet, but over-indexing on visual features would obscure the data. A lot of effort was placed in the look&feel proposals, with options of material realism and tech/sci-fi, with the aim to create a tool that delivered clear insights while standing as an engaging showpiece.
The outcome
A highly interactive atlas that bridges heavy data analysis with immersive storytelling.
Takeaway: designing for scale
Moving from a standard monitor to an 86-inch touchscreen changes the rule of interaction. This project pushed me to expand my technical expertise in Mapbox and to rethink spatial navigation for environments where the user is physically standing in front of the data.
